Greetings fellow music lovers! My name is Laura Christine Gibson. Everyone in Nashville calls me LC. I grew up in beautiful Kalamazoo, MI where I studied piano, violin, viola and voice. I went on to Hope College in Holland, MI where I studied classical viola, voice and piano and started playing violin in folk/rock/blues bands. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Kindergarten through 12th grade Music Education in 2004. In 2006, I created and taught a music curriculum at Family and Children Services. In 2009, I moved to Beaver Island in northern Lake Michigan where I continued to play classical viola, sing and fiddle. There, I created and ran the 21st Century Community Learning Center preschool-12th grade program at Beaver Island Community Schools. I also ran the strings program for the school and taught elementary general music. I came to Nashville in 2012 to learn the start a fine art business and take advantage of music performance opportunities with singer/songwriters. I recently was endorsed by L.R. Baggs and am having a blast networking in the awesome Nashville music scene. I started working at Ovation Music and Studios in January of 2016. Here, I enjoy teaching voice, piano, violin, viola and ukulele. Some other activities I enjoy are painting, reading, hiking, bicycling, kayaking and white water rafting.
